Selecting your Wedding Stationery

Your wedding invitations will be the first thing your guests will see to do with your wedding.  Your invitations and stationery should reflect the style and theme of your wedding. 

Your invitations are not the only stationery that you will need.  There are save the date cards, menu cards, table numbers, order of service and name place cards.  Your stationer can print all of the above to ensure that they all co-ordinate. 

Your stationery should be ordered around 4 months before the wedding.  Ensure that you carefully proofread all text to ensure its correct.  It is advised to get several people to read it as different eyes may spot something you missed.

If you are on a budget and are feeling creative then all your stationery can be printed from your printer or hand written on a variety of materials.  Many craft shops offer card making kits which can be tailored to every theme.

Invitations should be sent at least two months before.  It is advised to send a save the date card around one year in advance, especially if you are having your wedding on a summer Saturday.

Traditionally, wedding invitation envelopes are hand written, so take some time to carefully write the envelopes.  Ensure that you get the post office to weigh one invitation to get the correct postage for all.
