Randy and Rita Tendick of Jacksonville are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 17 at Salem Lutheran Church.
Randy Tendick and the former Rita Nobis were married Dec. 2, 1972, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Neelyville by Pastor Don Kroll.
They have two children, Stephanie Upton of Rock Island and Ryan Tendick of Gurnee. They also have five grandchildren.
Randy is a retired carpenter. Rita is retired from teaching in Jacksonville School District 117 and at Salem Lutheran School.
The couple requests no gifts, please.
Angela Bauer has been a copy editor and lifestyles editor for the Jacksonville Journal-Courier since July 2012. The Evansville, Indiana, native grew up in Paducah, Kentucky, and interned with the Paducah Sun, as well as being a reporter, lifestyles editor and copy editor for papers in Kentucky and Florida. She spends her (limited) free time baking, quilting and reading; and enjoys the AP Stylebook more than (she’s told) one should. She’s always on the lookout for a quality mug of hot chocolate.
