Emmerdale fans been left divided by Rhona’s revelation at the end of Wednesday’s (March 2) episode. She revealed to Vanessa that she had decided to propose to Marlon.
Earlier in the episode, Rhona bumped into Paddy, who informed her that Marlon had discussed their relationship with him. He told Rhona that because she turned down Marlon’s initial proposal, he feared that their partnership could be doomed to end.
On a mission to let Marlon know how she really feels about him, she resolved to propose to him. Not all fans of the ITV soap were pleased for the character, however, with some pointing out that a sudden wedding won’t fix their wider issues.

Grianne @griannedoherty2 wrote: “Rhona & Marlon literally weren’t even talking 5 minutes ago. To go from that to actually Proposing within 24 hours kinda seems a bit rushed does it not? Why now? A sudden wedding isn’t really gonna magically fix what’s clearly already broken in their relationship sadly.”
Owen @itzzzo_ also thought that Rhona’s plan was a bad idea, tweeting: “Rhona is right there because asking Marlon to marry you *is* completely extreme and completely barmy.”
And Emmerdale fan Bradley @bradleycoombes7 commented: “Poor Rhona. Surely she can’t be that desperate.”

Not all fans agreed, however, with some celebrating Rhona’s revelation. Twitter user @Rhapsod37201159 wrote: “YESSSSSS RHONAAAAAAA.”
Fahra @Starlight75 commented: “I so want these two to get their happy ever after. Say yes Marlon!”
Also in tonight’s episode, Charles launched a new support group for villagers affected by serial killer Meena Jutla’s crimes to come together. Elsewhere, there was an awkward moment as Paddy showed up to view Laurel’s home.
