CAMARILLO, Calif. — Moving into the least restrictive yellow tier means fewer restrictions for Ventura County businesses. This includes wedding venues.
“It has been really sad and quiet here all year long without the sounds of music and happy couples,” said Molly Lyneis, who is the venue rental manager at Camarillo Ranch.
Wedding venues like the Camarillo Ranch have had a tough year and half canceling and postponing weddings because of the pandemic.
“It was a rough time for all of the couples that have not been able to have their wedding as planned,” said Lyneis. “We have a few couples that are on their 3rd and 4th wedding date. People were still actively booking their weddings in the hopes that by the time theirs came around the restrictions would be lifted.”
Smaller weddings with restrictions were allowed to start back up on April 15, and now wedding season as we knew it is making a comeback.
“Tomorrow will be our first full wedding,” said Lyneis. “It’s super exciting. This will be the first time since last march that we are able to have dinner and dancing here at the venue.”
Ventura County officially moved into the least restrictive yellow tier of the state’s reopening plan Wednesday, which means fewer covid restrictions.
“We are now allowed to have up to 200 guests and then more than that if they have all been vaccinated or have proof of a negative COVID test, and then indoors for the reception we are allowed to do that as well,” said Lyneis. “Again with the provision that the guests have been vaccinated or have a negative COVID test.”
As wedding restrictions loosen up availability is dropping. Camarillo Ranch says the rest of the year is very busy– with almost every Saturday booked.
“It is very exciting that a lot of our venders will be back to work, and again that the couples can finally have the weddings that they have been waiting to have,” said Lyneis.
